» My father and my uncle are identical twins. During a "death bed confession" my mother admitted to having an affair with my uncle. Is there still a way to tell if my uncle or the man I have known to be my father is my real biological father? (Back)
If the two men are definitely monozygotic twins (commonly referred to as identical) there is no way of telling. The only to people in the world that share the exact same genetic code are monozygotic twins since they started as one egg fertilized by one sperm which split in two early in development. If these men are old enough to be your father they were probably not genetically tested for zygosity. Our recommendation to you would be to have a zygosity test performed which is very inexpensive. If they are truly monozygotic there is nothing else to be determined. If they in fact turn out to be dizygotic (commonly referred to as fraternal) we will be able to make a paternity determination.
