The fact is, there are less than 50 laboratories in the world which are AABB Accredited Parentage Testing Facilities. You can view a list of labs that are accredited by clicking on the link below. AABB Accredited Parentage Testing Facilities must perform all sample collections and identity testing using stringent AABB guidelines, which non-accredited laboratories are not required to adhere to. Below is a partial list of mandatory practices all AABB Accredited Laboratories must perform:The laboratory director and lab personnel must meet stringent AABB experience and educational requirements in order to obtain and retain accreditation.
AABB Accredited Laboratories must periodically perform external and internal reviews.
All paternity cases which result in an exclusion are repeated.
AABB Accredited Laboratories must submit to regular laboratory inspections and/or audits.
All testing methods must be approved by the AABB prior to use in the lab.
Proficiency testing is completed four times each year.
